Sheridan serving up ice cream and pie

SHERIDAN — The Friends of the Sheridan Library will host their 12th annual Old-Fashioned Ice Cream and Pie Social from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, in the city park by the library. 

The event is to celebrate summer’s last days, and autumn, which begins on Sept. 23. Bring a chair and enjoy the live music and socializing.

In the case of inclement weather, the social will be moved to Bethany Hall. Details: Sheridan Library at 406-842-5770.

Guild to hold collage retreat

Chateau Quilt Guild will be holding their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at The Springs (community center). New members and the public are invited to attend.

In addition, the guild will be sponsoring a Laura Heine Collage Retreat Sept. 27-29, at The Springs. This retreat is open to anyone, and the cost is $150 for the three days. If anyone is interested and joins the guild (annual membership $20), then the cost for the retreat is $50.

WHITEHALL — Montana State University’s Madison Jefferson Extension will host an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at 103 West Legion St., Whitehall.

This is an opportunity to meet the agents and staff, get information on the services provided, and get a tour of the office. Refreshments will be provided.

The office currently offers services related to agriculture, natural resources, 4H, community development, and economic development.

Extension services have been available in Madison and Jefferson counties through a cooperative arrangement with MSU since 1936, and in some capacity in Madison County since 1917.

Habitat for Humanity plans garage sale

Habitat for Humanity will have a three-day garage sale Thursday-Saturday, Sept. 12-14, at its ReSale Store at 821 S. Arizona St.

A large number of new items will be available. Volunteers are needed for all three days. In addition, volunteers are needed to help with the eight homes currently under construction in Butte.
