The Lexington Avenue bridge over Interstate 15-90 in Butte has been closed while crews repair a leaking water line under the road.
Mark Neary, Butte-Silver Bow’s public works director, said the bridge was closed to traffic Monday and it could stay closed through this Friday while work continues.
Lexington, which becomes Kaw Avenue just north of the bridge, is one of five streets in urban Butte that run over the interstate. Montana Street and Harrison Avenue run underneath the interstate.
Neary said the water line was leaking on both sides of the road and it was shut down for the repair work.
The other four streets that cross over the interstate are Oregon Avenue, Sheridan Avenue and Continental Drive running north and south over I-15-90 and Burlington Street running east and west over Interstate 90.
