Nov. 17, 1954-Nov. 8, 2019
Terry Rae Johnson, 64, of Bigfork, MT was born on November 17, 1954 at St. James Hospital in Butte, MT to Ray and Carol Johnson. In 1965 Terry moved to Bozeman, MT with her family. She lived in Bozeman until she graduated from Bozeman High School in 1973. After high school Terry moved back to Butte, MT where she worked miscellaneous jobs until she married Jim Johnson on September 6, 1975.
Terry lived in Butte, MT with her husband Jim Johnson for a few years before moving to the family ranch in Divide, MT. There, she helped work the family ranch while raising their three kids. In 1999, Jim and Terry divorced. Terry and the kids moved to her parent’s cherry orchard in the Flathead Valley. During this time, she got a job at Frontier Log Furniture where she met her significant other, Mike Burge.
She worked at Frontier for 18 years until she became ill with cancer. While fighting that battle, Terry Johnson passed away November 8, 2019 at 3:00 AM at Kalispell Regional hospital surrounded by her kids and loved ones.
Terry is survived by her mother, Carol Johnson; her significant other, Mike Burge; her children, Eric Johnson, Keith and Jasmine Johnson, Leslie Johnson and Stephen Penrod; her brothers and sisters, Bob Johnson, Bill & Amy Johnson, Roy & Linda Johnson, Shana & Danny Lee, Gary Johnson; her grandchildren, Teddy Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Sophia Johnson; and many other family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 10:00 AM and will be at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell. She will be laid to rest at Bigfork Community Cemetery following the chapel service; following the cemetery service there will be a pot luck gathering at the family orchard, 23126 Yellow Bay Lane in Bigfork, MT.

Jeffrey Frank Kestle, 57, of Butte passed away on November 9, 2019 after a short illness. Jeff was born in Butte on August 31, 1962 to Charles and Janice Kestle and attended local schools. Jeff graduated from Butte High in 1980.
Jeff attended Montana State University where he received a master’s degree in Architecture in 1985. Later he attended the University of Washington where he received a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Design in 1992. White attending UW Jeff worked as a teaching assistant in the Architecture Department, and later was employed as an Architect for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
Jeff was a partner in Kestle Architects of Butte from 1992-2019. Jeff held professional licenses in Montana and Washington. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, the American Planning Association, and the Butte Society of Architects where he served as president.
Jeff was a music enthusiast. He had played trumpet in the Butte Symphony, The Butte Big Band, and various local groups.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by brother, Charles Kestle and sister-in-law, Vicki Kestle of Butte, and brother, Scott Kestle and sister-in-law, Helen Kestle of Port Orchard, Washington. Friends can call on November 21, 2019 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 1621 Thornton Ave., at 1:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. A private interment will follow. Donations and memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Daniel M. Linscott passed away on November 7, 2019. Dan was born November 30, 1941, to Marion and Laura Linscott. He had 3 brothers and 3 sisters with only the youngest sister Kathy surviving.
He and his wife Judy raised 4 children, Danny, Jim, Teresa and Dana. They also have 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
He worked on ranches, drove a long-haul truck, and worked for the City of Dillon for 20 years retiring as Director of Operations.
He loved to spend time in the mountains camping, fishing, and hunting.
As he wished there will be no services His ashes will be scattered at his favorite fishing spot at a later date.

Ruth C. “Mickie” Harvey of Butte passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 8, 2019. Mickie was born on October 16, 1922 to George and Barbara Sulzbach in Buffalo, NY and attended grade and high schools in the Buffalo area. She also attended the Jean Summers Business College as well as the University of Buffalo.
Since World War II was in full stride she obtained a position at Curtis Wright Corporation, manufacturers of the P-40 Warhawk and C-46 Commando airplanes. After 1 year, she was transferred to Camp Curtis Army base near Buffalo to train Air Corps personnel on the maintenance procedures associated with the aforementioned aircraft.
This is where Mickie met Lt. John F. “Jack” Harvey, a Butte native and one of her students. Following a short, whirlwind courtship they were married in Georgia in Ft. Benning’s Base Chapel on February 23, 1945. After 5 months, Jack was deployed to the Philippines, where he spent the next 13 months. Mickie moved back to Buffalo, NY and lived with her parents until her husband returned from his deployment.
Upon Jack’s return and a short stay in Buffalo, they relocated to Butte, MT where he accepted employment with the Anaconda Company as a Mining Engineer.
As with the times, Mickie was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her three children (John, Janice and Gayle).
In January 1972, Mickie relocated to Tucson, AZ due to Jack’s job and then to Denver, CO in 1980, where they resided until Jack retired. In 1985, they moved to Polson, MT and “lived the dream” on Flathead Lake until Jack’s passing in February 2009. Mickie then relocated to Big Sky Senior Living in Butte where she happily resided until her death.
Mickie enjoyed volunteer work in the hospitals wherever she lived, making clothes for her daughters during their younger early years, reading, and playing bridge throughout her life. She was instrumental in the establishment of the Butte Elks Lodges’ Thursday ladies bridge group and was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the A.I.M.E. She also represented the residents of Big Sky on the Board for 3 years.
Mickie is survived by her son, John and daughter-in-law, Colleen of Surprise, AZ and grandson, John A. of Littleton, CO; daughter, Janice Gummer of Butte, granddaughter, Deanna Johnson and husband, Mike and great-grandson, Logan, all of Butte, grandson, Bob McGarry and his wife, Bobbie, great-granddaughters, Arianna and great-great-granddaughter, Rylie, all of Spokane and Brianna of Alameda, CA; daughter, Gayle Harvey of Butte, granddaughter, Jennifer Caplis-McGovern, and great-grandchildren, Sydney, Levi, and Simon of Lolo, MT and granddaughter, Elena Caplis and husband, Brian Gregory and great-grandson, Roam of Missoula, MT.
A Celebration of Mickie’s life will be held in the summer of 2020. The date will be announced prior to the services.

BILLINGS — John Patrick “Jack” Gaughan, 76, of Billings, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born on Dec. 5, 1942, in Butte. He was the third of five children born to William and Margaret Gaughan. Upon graduation from Butte High in 1960, Jack joined the United States Air Force. He was based at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where he was a small engine mechanic. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sharon Vaughn of Dexter, Missouri. They were married on June 27, 1964. They were blessed with four children: Sandy, Cindy, Sherri and Mark.
Once discharged from the Air Force, Jack and Sharon moved to Butte. He was employed by the Anaconda Company until he joined the Montana Highway Patrol in 1968. His first post was in Wolf Point. In 1970, he was transferred to Sidney. That is where they remained and raised their family until 1986, with the exception of one year in Columbia Falls. During his time in Sidney, he wore many hats. He, along with Sharon and the kids, built six houses. He had a spraying service, taught CCD, was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, he coached and was always available to anyone in need. With each promotion came a move. They moved back and forth between Glendive and Billings, and eventually settled in Billings, where he retired as Captain in 1995. After retirement, he built a house in Billings for his daughter Cindy with her husband Mark. Once that was finished, rather than sit around, he bought a semi and drove over the road for the next seven years. During this time, he and Sharon split their time between Montana and Missouri.
Jack enjoyed golf, singing, fixing things, anything, construction, playing dice with his brothers-in-law and above all, family. His love of God and family extended well beyond his bloodlines. Anyone who ever came to their home lost or searching always left knowing they were loved. He is Papa Jack to too many to count. One of the greatest joys in his life were his grandkids and great-grandkids. He was just as excited about each new addition to the family as he was for the first one. He did his very best to be a loving, fun presence in each of their lives. Papa or PJ to the grandkids and Big Jack to the greats.
Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon; daughters, Sandy (Steve) Kelly, Minot, North Dakota, Cindy (Mark) Berzel, Billings, Sherri Hardy, Glendale, Arizona; son, Mark (Mary), Billings; grandchildren, Matt (Ann) Kelly, Amanda (Dane) Bekkedahl, Melissa (TJ) Lawrence, Kaitlyn (Matt) Vitt, Timothy Hurley, Michael Berzel, Hannah Hardy, Connor Gaughan, Christopher Berzel, Olivia (Brennan) Nielson, Ellie Gaughan; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Jack, Miles, Kennedy, Iselyn, Emersyn, Scarlett, Cullen, Evelyn, Rhett and Ford. Also, two more on the way that we’re sure he’s already loving on.
He is also survived by his sisters Rosemary Yavarow, Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and Nonie (Ted) Bisch, Butte; his brothers-in-law Jerry, Ronnie and Randy Vaughn; sisters-in-law Barbara (Jeff) Davis, Rose Champion, Betty Horn; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Margaret Gaughan; in-laws Arthur and Ruby Vaughn; brother, Bill Gaughan; sister, Peg Edgell; brothers-in-law, Tom Edgell, Bud Vaughn, Gene Vaughn, Larry Vaughn, Lee Vaughn, Dale Vaughn; sister-in-law, Diane Link; and, most recently, his beloved granddaughter, Alyxandra Hurley. He was in a hurry to get to heaven to take care of her.
Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, 1001 Alderson Ave., with a vigil service at 7 p.m., preceded by recitation of the rosary at 6:15 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2055 Woody Drive, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at St. Thomas Parish Center.

A wonderful woman, mother and friend was called home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 4, 2019. Shirley Ann Dowling Morton was born in Butte, MT, on November 28, 1928, to Francis and Frances Dowling. She was raised in a typical hard-working, Christian Butte family. She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School through 8th grade. She then attended Butte High School where she was a majorette in the marching band for the Butte Bulldogs.
While in high school Shirley began working for a firm of attorneys as a secretary, and continued that work after graduating in 1946. One of the firm’s attorneys, Arnold Olsen, ran for Attorney General, for which he was elected, so Shirley followed him to Helena to work in the Capital Building as his secretary in January of 1949. It was here that she met one of her best friends, Peg McLaughlin. After working as Mr. Olsen’s secretary for two terms, Shirley and Peg decided to set off on an adventure and move somewhere new and exciting. They narrowed it down to either Denver or San Francisco. They ventured to Denver to see how they liked the climate but there was a heavy snowstorm the few days they were there, so on to San Francisco they went! Shirley was hired as a secretary for the architectural firm of Anshen and Allen, where she met her future husband, Jim Morton. She and Jim married on December 16, 1958. They moved to Squaw Valley, CA, where Jim was designing homes in the Lake Tahoe area, and Shirley served as the secretary for the Olympic Commission for the 1960 Winter Olympics.
Jim and Shirley would often come back to Butte to visit her family and it was during one of these trips that she and Jim began to purchase property in the Jackson Creek area of the Bridger Mountains, just east of Bozeman. They permanently moved to the ranch at Jackson Creek in 1977. They expanded Green Mountain Ranch by adding property near Logan, MT, in 1981. Shirley and Jim raised commercial cattle until 1985 when they began raising registered Red Angus and updated the ranch name to Green Mountain Red Angus. Shirley resided at the ranch at Jackson Creek until the winter of 2013, when she moved to Parkhaven in Manhattan, MT.
Shirley had many wonderful adventures throughout her life, but above it all she treasured and loved her family and many friends. Shirley was known as the ‘Queen of the Casserole’ and could whip up an amazing dinner at a moment’s notice. She was an incredibly gracious hostess and always presented herself and her family with class and grace.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, James Morton, her parents, Francis and Frances Dowling, and her sister, Carol Miller. She is survived by her son, Bob Morton and his wife, Julie, and her two grandsons, Tom and Jim Morton, of Three Forks, MT, her much beloved sister, Joan Lutz of Butte, her nephew John (Becky) Lutz and niece Stephanie Lutz of Coppell, TX, as well as her stepsons Jim (Kathy) Morton of Plymouth, MN, and John Morton of Downers Grove, IL, numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren, and many cousins in WA and CA. Shirley loved her many caregivers at Parkhaven, especially Nick Hamilton. Thank you so much for all of your love and devotion in caring for Shirley. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held next summer.

Jo Ann Marvin passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at her home in Butte with her husband at her side. She was born in Butte Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1944, to William and Dorothy (Turner) Heard. She attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Girl’s Central. Jo Ann met the love of her life, John Marvin, on a blind date after a Butte High football game in 1961 which led to their marriage at St. Joseph’s Church on May 4, 1963. Together they had three children, Debbie, John, and Cindy, to make their forever home in Butte complete.
Jo Ann worked many jobs, but her passion was always a wife, mother, and homemaker. After high school she worked in the office for the School District until taking a position as vault teller at Metal’s Bank. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Buttrey Foods for many years and ultimately retired after working 10+ years at the Waterford Senior Living, where she loved to continue to be a caretaker after her children and grandchildren were grown, preparing meals for the residents there.
Jo, as she like to be called because she was named after her uncle Joe Chatriand, had a love for cooking, sewing, horses and poetry. She had a beautiful smile, always loving and kind, putting others first and loved her family fiercely. Jo Ann helped coach her daughters’ volleyball and softball teams, kept score for her son’s baseball teams and planned many trips for her kids and their friends to wrestling meets, softball and bowling tournaments. Grama Jo loved watching any of her grandkids’ sporting events, dance competitions or theatre performances. She enjoyed watching her husband and son race at Lost Creek Raceway for many years. She and John took their very first plane ride in 2015 on a trip of a lifetime to a NASCAR race in Phoenix.
As the Matriarch of our family, all relatives and friends enjoyed her carefully planned Christmas Eve and Fourth of July parties, where everyone looked forward to her famous macaroni salad, ham rolls and “dunk.”
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Marvin of Butte, daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Dave Martinich of Butte and Cindy and Tom Tuttle of Helena, son and daughter-in-law, John and Michele Marvin of Billings. Surviving grandchildren: David Allen Martinich and Brady Laramie, Jerica and Brandon Lane, Denton and Kyanna Martinich, Holly Modlin and Tim Compton, and Josh Modlin. Also surviving is the apple of her eye, her great-grandson, Acen Martinich; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Ray Marshall of Butte, brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Linda Heard of Butte, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Debbie Marvin of Billings, sisters-in-law Barb Heard and Sally Heard, as well has many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Bill and Herb Heard, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Ted Miller, and her great-granddaughter, her little angel, Katrina Modlin.

Louise Capp Martin passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 6, 2019, at Continental Care and Rehabilitation. This youthful spirited woman was born in Whitehall Sunday, Sept. 4, 1921, to John and Clara (Delmoe) Capp. She was the 8th of their 12 children raised on their ranch. It was there that she learned to be a hard worker like her father. She was wonderful cook, seamstress, and gardener like her mother. Louise completed her full k-12 education in Whitehall. Then she continued on to served her country in the Women’s Army Corp, and was the Army’s uniform model during World War II. She married the love of her life, Daniel Martin, at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, on her 24th birthday, Sept. 4, 1945. After the war they returned to Montana and built their home up with six children.
Louise loved her family and friends. She would send frequent letters and drawings, and make phone calls to keep in touch with all of them. Louise loved carrying on witty conversation. This blue-eyed Swiss gal could often be found cooking or lending a hand to those in need. Louise made sure to save a little time to travel the world. The picture on the fridge of her riding a camel as she explored the pyramids speaks to her adventurous spirit. Louise was an accomplished artist, working mainly in oil and watercolors. A mural she painted filled an entire wall in the home of Evil Knievel. In the 50’s and 60’s, she enjoyed league bowling. She remained a strong and independent woman for 40 years after her husband passed away. She spoke often and proudly of her son Tony Martin, who also preceded her in death. Louise’s family to carry on her undying spirit includes her daughter, Linda Martin of Spokane, WA, sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Porcher Martin of Knoxville, TN, Loree Martin of Big Fork, MT, Rick and Michele Martin of Butte, MT, Randy Martin of Missoula, MT and Barry Martin of Spokane, WA. Grandchildren include: Beverly Williams, Ann Giblin, Luke Martin, Daniel Martin, Nicholas Martin, Kayla Martin and Amy Martin. Great-grandchildren include: Riley and Erin Williams, Gage, Tristan and McKenna Giblin, Casten and Maryen Martin, and Braden and Sophie Martin. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Capp and sister JoAnn Merrell.

Mr. John G “Jocko” Evans passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 6, 2019, at the Springs Assisted Living. He was born in Butte Tuesday, Oct. 14, 1941, to John G. and Betty L. (Bauman) Evans. He attended Paxson School in Missoula, the Monroe and Webster-Garfield in Butte, and graduated from Butte High School in 1959. He attended the San Mateo Junior College then returned to Butte where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Montana School of Mines in 1965. He earned his Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Pennsylvania State Institute in 1967.
He and Gaye Fabian were married April 17, 1965, in St. Mark's Lutheran Church and his career in petroleum took them all over the world, making their home in England, Norway and Indonesia before returning to Butte in 1991. John served as professor at Montana Tech and head of the Petroleum Department at Montana Tech until his retirement in 2007. John and Gaye also owned and operated Oilfield Consultants Inc. and Mountain View Cemetery in Butte.
John received numerous accolades and commendations throughout his career including the Chancellor’s Medallion at Montana Tech, the Distinguished Alumni Award and being named by Governor Bullock to the Montana Board of Oil and Gas. In September, the “Jock Evans Journeys Room” was dedicated in the Student Success Center at Montana Tech. Jocko was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, a Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer with the state of Montana, served on the Montana Petroleum Association Board of Directors, the Digger Athletic Association Board of Directors, was a Butte High Golden “B” and was a life-long and active member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. When not working, or in any number of ways being of service to others, John enjoyed playing golf and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his wife, Gaye Evans of Butte, son and daughter-in-law, John G. and Michele Evans of South Jordan, Utah, daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Link Drydahl of Seattle, grandchildren Rebecca and Ryan Roberts, Britany Evans, Jack and Sacha Drydahl, great-grandchildren, Roman and Ryker Roberts, sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcia and Norm Houseworth of Fremont, California, Caryl and Dave Fantazia of Oakdale, California and Terri and Mike Carver of Federal Way, Washington.

December 16, 1944- November 6, 2019
Martin Vook passed away at his home this last Wednesday after a short but valiant struggle with lung cancer. Marty was born in Helena, Mont., on Dec. 16, 1944, the first son of Mathew S. and Mildred L. Vook of East Helena. The neighborhood Marty grew up in had six girls and no boys his age so throughout his school years he learned to be popular with the girls to the detriment of his studies. During his childhood he learned to hunt and fish from his Dad and later taught his younger brothers and his own children. He had several different jobs including working at a service station and caretaking at the East Helena Cemetery. He played all sports but was exceptionally talented at baseball. At age 16 he was batting .540 in the B League when he suffered an accidental gunshot wound that nearly took his life. He frequently commented that he had been living on borrowed time since then. Unable to do sports he spent the rest of his high school years hanging out with Murphy or Heady and chasing girls. He and his long-time neighborhood friends won grand prize at the Vigilante parade with their float portraying Lewis and Clark meeting the Mandans; he was York. He had little interest in school but was able to graduate from Helena High School, class of ’62.
Through physical therapy and hard work, he was able to regain enough strength in his right arm to work at AS&R for a couple of years and enlist in the U.S. Army at age 20. He was trained as an electronic specialist and stationed in Germany. It was there he met his first wife, Michelene. They had two children together— Stephen and Chantal. He received an honorable discharge from the Army and returned to East Helena and worked at American Chemet and briefly attended Carroll College. The family later moved to Butte where he worked as a cable installer and sometimes an uninstaller.
While he was in Butte, he started riding with Bruce and worked hard to attain his dream job of being a Game Warden, which he was able to achieve without a college degree. He worked out of Billings for a couple of years before being permanently stationed in Butte where he remained warden until his retirement in 2007 after 32 ½ years. In 1995 he received the Medal of Valor for saving a man’s life on the Big Hole River.
While in Butte, he and his wife adopted three foster children, Michan, Blaine and Blair. Martin and Michelene later divorced and in August, 1983, he married his “Forever Wife” Cindy. He adopted her sons, Mike and Chris. He became a certified scuba diver and participated in numerous search and recovery operations. He also dove at Truk Lagoon. He obtained his private pilot license. He and Cindy traveled throughout the country.
After retirement he did considerable improvements around his home. He loved taking his boat to Canyon Ferry and Georgetown Lake to fish. He still hunted but in the later years was more interested in getting out in the woods than killing an animal.
He is survived by his wife Cindy, his children and grandchildren, brother Randy and sister Lois of Helena and brother Jim of Pocatello and several nieces and nephews, mother-in-law Jackie, and brother-in-law Dale. At Marty’s direction no services will be held. The family wishes to thank Shamia and Chris from Hospice and his close friends for the help and care they gave over this difficult time. We will miss him greatly while he waits at the Rainbow Bridge for Shadow. Family requests memorials in Marty’s name be made to any hospice program, or any charity that helps animals. MESQUITE, Nevada — Linda Jane Roesti, 72, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019, of natural causes. Linda was born Dec. 23, 1946, in Minnesota, to Morris and Sally (Marjamaa) Hanninen. She married Chum Roesti at the Gold Hill Lutheran Church in Butte, Mont., on Dec. 26, 1965. They were married just shy of 54 years.
Linda was born in Minnesota and moved to Butte, Mont., as a young girl with her parents, Morris and Sally Hanninen and her 4 brothers and sisters. She grew up in Butte where she attended and graduated from Butte High School. After meeting her future husband during an innocent softball dispute and eventually failing to properly discourage him she became engaged and married the incorrigible Chum Roesti. While attending college and working odd jobs cleaning hotel rooms and waitressing, she gave birth to three beautiful girls that were the light of her life. Linda attended Montana Tech and Western Montana College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Education. Following graduation, she went to work at Ramsay Elementary in Ramsay, Mont., and soon gave birth to her best and final child, this time a son, to everyone’s great cheer. She taught all ages of elementary school at Ramsay for 25 years, starting in 1973 and ending in 1998. After retiring, Linda moved with Chum to warmer climates, living both in St. George, Utah and Mesquite, Nevada.
As most of her students and family can attribute, Linda was known as a warm and caring teacher, mother and spouse. When discussing Linda with family members, many former students loved telling stories about their “favorite” teacher, Mrs. Roesti. Children always come first, her own, her students and others. She was known to say that there are no bad children only those that have not been given the opportunity, attention and love needed to succeed. As a young child, Linda discovered her love for reading and learning about new places, things and ideas. Only allowed to take a small amount of books from the library at a time, she choose volume, taking and reading encyclopedias which helped lead to her knowing a great variety of general knowledge. Before the internet and Google, you went to Linda to answer your questions.
As a youngster growing up in rough and tumble Butte, Mont., Linda was much of a rascal, leading her friends on escapades through old Butte including using the old log runs at Columbia Gardens for waterslides, exploring abandoned mine shafts, riding a tractor tire through a plate glass bar window, storing garden snakes in her mother’s picnic basket, leading rooftop water fights and once cutting power to uptown Butte through strategic use of a child’s gymnastic baton.
As an adult, Linda was a highly intelligent bookworm; known to have three or more paperbacks in her purse at all times and treated her home as a library storing her thousands of novels collected throughout the years. Linda’s children were a highlight of her life, she enjoyed attending her children’s athletic events including speed skating, softball games, basketball, football and baseball. She never missed a game, no matter how far she had to travel attending games from coast to coast and in Canada. From the kids grade school activities to their college sports, she was there supporting and sometimes pulling the errant bat throwing child off the field by the ear. Her other great loves included camping at such locations as Flathead Lake and Elkhorn where much of her summers were spent with her family. She loved to cook and entertain with her family and friends. Her favorite times were holidays with her husband, children, immediate family, her beloved nieces and nephews and as she aged, her grandchildren. Linda’s kind and gentle nature made her a favorite aunt, mother and wife.
Linda is survived by her husband, Chum Roesti of Mesquite, NV; children, Jordi and Bill Anzik of Helena, MT, Jenni Sullivan of Helena, MT, JoEllen Roesti of Antioch, CA, and Chad and Dania Roesti of Houston TX; grandchildren, Camden Roesti of Helena, MT, Dublin and Taggart Sullivan of Butte, MT, Seamus Sullivan of Helena, MT, Finnley Roesti of Antioch, CA, and Logan Kin Roesti of Houston, TX; brothers and sisters, Bill and Carol Ray of Winnemucca, NV, Dallas and Karen Cox of Helena MT, Carol Hanninen of Missoula MT and Larry and Tammy Hanninen of Elk Park, MT and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Gary Hanninen, parents, Morris and Sally Hanninen, and Paul and Coline Roesti.
Celebration of life services will be held during the summer in Butte, Mont., with family and friends, followed by the spreading of ashes in her favorite places in the beautiful Rocky Mountains and Flathead Lake. It will be announced through newspaper and social media.

Micheal Christopher Bentcik was born to Sue Outten and Jeremiah Bentcik on September 21, 1999. He had a sweet smile and disposition. In July of 2002 his mother married Allyn Moses and the three of them began to create a family. In the following years, that family added 2 brothers and a sister which Mikey loved very much.
During his short 20-year life he found that he loved to read and listen to music. The outdoors, camping and hiking became favorite pastimes. Other favorite pastimes included playing video games with his brothers and cousins, skateboarding and bowling. He always gave a helping hand to those who needed it. Micheal was full of compassion and love.
He is survived by his parents, Sue Moses, Allyn Moses and Jeremiah Bentcik; His siblings, Timothy Moses, Anthony Moses (AJ) Arianna Moses, Aianna Wyant, Tommy Chor, Jacoby Bentcik, Jeremiah Bentcik Jr., and Jordan Bentcik; his grandparents, Glenda Allen, Jim and Karen Moses, Diane Peltier; surviving aunts and uncles, Sarah Outten, Dennis Gwin, Bernadette Gwin, Tara Bentcik, Billie Jean Kline; and numerous cousins.
Micheal's service will be at the Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 11. There will be a luncheon to follow downstairs.
