Woman holds man at gunpoint
A Butte woman who lives in the 1900 block of Florence Avenue came home around 7 p.m. Friday to find her front door ajar and a man she had never seen before sleeping on her couch.
Holding the man at gun point, she called police and they arrived at her residence.
Officers arrested Michael Jacob Berberick, 36, of Billings, who told police he had no idea how he got to Butte and thought he was still in Billings.
Berberick also had a pistol in his possession, along with a set of brass knuckles.
He was transported to the Butte Detention Center and jailed on suspicion of felony parole violation, misdemeanor possession of a concealed weapon and misdemeanor criminal trespass to property.
Jailed for DUI
Jeremy Andrew Emery, 50, of Butte was arrested Sunday afternoon after a traffic stop in the area of the 600 block of Clark Street.
Emery was reportedly driving 54 miles per hour in a 25-mile per hour zone. During the investigation, it was determined that Emery was possibly operating his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
He was arrested for driving under the influence and speeding.
It was reported Friday morning that a vending machine at the Comfort Inn, 2777 Harrison Ave., was broken into and an unknown amount of cash was taken.
A man working on a home on Caledonia Street went to retrieve a drill he needed Friday afternoon, but the tool was missing.
— Several calls came in late Friday night regarding fireworks being set off at the “C” Street Park. When police arrived, though, there was no one around.
— It was the same scenario late Saturday night, this time in the 1300 block of Hobson Street. Again, when police got there, the “culprits” were nowhere to be found.
Ford Ranger taken
A man was working in the 600 block of South Clark when his 2008 Ford Ranger was stolen. He acknowledged that the keys were in the vehicle. The case is under investigation.
On Sunday morning, a call came in about gunshots heard behind the Big M, but when police arrived, there was no one there.
