Partner or family member assault

Police arrested Timothy StuRgill, 32, of Butte at about 7:45 p.m. Wednesday on the 1300 block of Waterline Road for partner or family member assault, a felony, and a probation violation, also a felony.

According to police, Sturgill pushed a female to the ground several times and then pushed her into the street then took off in a vehicle, which made her afraid he was going to run over her. Although the victim did not appear to be hurt, Sturgill’s prior partner or family member assault convictions turned this into a felony count, police say.

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Police arrested Trey Kopp, 19, of Butte at about 1 a.m. Friday in the Butte Civic Center parking lot, 1340 Harrison Ave., for possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer drove through the parking lot when he saw a group of 18- and 19-year-olds gathered there. The officer allegedly found a pipe used for marijuana on Kopp.

Disorderly conduct

Police arrested Donald Atkinson, 38, of Butte at about midnight Wednesday at the Rescue Mission, 610 E. Platinum St., for two misdemeanors: disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

Atkinson allegedly damaged a door and furniture and refused to leave.

Juvenile caught shoplifting

Police apprehended a 13-year-old male at about 11 p.m. Thursday for shoplifting at Safeway, 310 W. Front St. He allegedly took alcohol from the store. Police say an officer turned the juvenile over to a parent.
