Butte Police Reports

  • A man on the 1600 block of B Street reported Monday morning that a young male shot his boy with a BB gun. The man wanted police to talk to the shooter's parents.
  • Montana Tech reported Monday morning a generator and a Dell laptop computer stolen from the science and technology building. The generator is a Honda 2000 W inverter, and it was last seen around Aug. 22. Tech previously reported two other generators stolen in April.
  • A woman came to the police department Monday afternoon and reported that her boyfriend grabbed her by the throat Sunday night on the 600 block of West Galena.
  • A 14-year-old girl was cited for felony assault Monday night after allegedly hitting another girl in the face with a beer can at Clark Park. The suspect was allegedly drinking and said she was provoked.

Butte city courts

  • Josh Dolan, 29, of Billings, pleaded guilty Aug. 8 to his seventh offense of driving without liability insurance and his fourth offense of driving a vehicle with a revoked driver's license. He was sentenced to 29 days in jail.
  • Samantha Cooley, 19, of 104 N. Ewing, Helena, pleaded guilty July 5 to two separate counts of misdemeanor theft and one count of obstructing a police officer by misidentifying herself. According to court documents, on Dec. 4, 2004, Cooley stole shampoo, makeup and baby wipes from Albertson's, and on June 11, took clothing from Bob Ward and Sons. She was fined $1,665 and received three six-month suspended jail sentences.
  • Donald Barnes, 28, of 25 E. Granite, pleaded guilty to driving without liability insurance and driving with a suspended driver's license. He was sentenced to 22 days in jail.
  • Douglas Ohren, 34, of 700 W. Galena, pleaded guilty Aug. 17 to partner or family assault. According to court documents, Ohren yelled and screamed threats, and threw household goods at a minor family member and an adult female. He was fined $1,635, must donate $25 to Family Victims, and received a one-year suspended sentence with credit given for serving two days.
  • Breeann Larson, 18, of 1103 S. Wyoming, pleaded guilty July 11 to criminal possession of dangerous drugs, marijuana, and endangering the welfare of a child by violating a duty of care. She was fined $1,110 and received two six-month suspended jail sentences.
  • JoAnn Yelloweyes, 47, of 45 E. Broadway, pleaded guilty Aug. 12 to misdemeanor assault and obstructing a police officer. According to court documents, Yelloweyes cut an adult male's wrist and gave police officers a false name. She was fined $555 and was given a 19-day jail sentence.
  • John Barry, 47, of Guam, pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to partner or family assault. According to court documents, Barry pulled an adult female's arms behind her back and pushed her down. He was fined $1,055, must pay $25 to Family Victims, received a one-year suspended jail sentence with credit for serving one day, and must attend anger management class in Guam.
  • Brad Atkins, no age listed, of 2130 Argyle, pleaded guilty Aug. 22 to his second offense of partner assault. According to court documents, Atkins yelled at and hit an adult female. He was fined $1,055, must pay $25 to Family Victims, received a one-year suspended jail sentence with credit for serving two days, and must attend anger management class.
  • Dan Norris, 26, of 828 Colorado, pleaded guilty July 11 to misdemeanor theft of money from the 4-B's. He was fined $1,055 and received a six-month suspended jail sentence.
  • Jodi Neely, 34, unknown address, pleaded guilty July 11 to misdemeanor theft of a motorcycle. She was fined $555, received a six-month jail sentence with all but 10 days suspended, and must make restitution in the amount of $555.
  • John Cady, 36, of 1012 W. Gold, pleaded guilty July 27 to driving with a revoked driver's license and driving without liability insurance (fourth offense). He was fined $1,130.
  • Tammy Schroeder, 35, of Silver Bow Homes, pleaded guilty July 19 to driving with a suspended driver's license and driving without liability insurance. She was fined $840.
  • Michael Phillips, 49, of Whitehall, or 824 N. Montana, Dillon, pleaded guilty Aug. 18 to disorderly conduct and misdemeanor theft. According to court documents, Phillips yelled profanities and challenged others to fight. He also took two beers from the Town Pump. He was fined $725.
  • Richard Girard Jr., 26, of 2029 Elm, pleaded guilty July 19 to misdemeanor criminal mischief. According to court documents, Girard damaged two blankets belonging to the Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department. He was fined $555 and received a six-month suspended jail sentence. He must also pay $103.25 in restitution.

  • Sara Durkin, 21, of 1930 Argyle, pleaded guilty Aug. 2 to driving under the influence (second offense). She was fined $600 and must attend alcohol awareness class.
  • Brandon DeShazo, 26, of 1329 Utah, pleaded guilty July 19 to driving without liability insurance (fifth offense). He was fined $600.
  • Stephen Scott, 19, of 1111 W. Woolman, pleaded guilty Aug. 23 to reckless driving and driving without liability insurance, second offense. He was fined $595.
  • John Cash, 39, of East Missoula, pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to misdemeanor assault. According to court documents, Cash punched an individual in the face on East Broadway Street. He was fined $555 and received a six-month suspended jail sentence.
  • John Griffis, 22, of 67 W. Gold, recently pleaded guilty to violating a protective order. According to court documents, at various times during July 2004, Griffis contacted, in person and/or through the mail, the protected person. He was fined $555 and received a six-month suspended jail sentence.
  • William Castle, 67, of 208½ S. Washington, pleaded guilty July 22 to misdemeanor assault. According to court documents, Castle grabbed another individual by the neck at Wal Mart. He was fined $555 and received a six-month suspended jail sentence.
  • Christopher Liebel, 21, of 159 Trinity Loop, pleaded guilty July 27 to criminal mischief. According to court documents, Liebel knowingly broke a window at a residence not his own. He was fined $555.
  • Brian Mann, 26, of 610 S. Montana, and
  • Sonja Brekhus, 34, of 2606 Kossuth, both recently pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended driver's license. Each person was fined $520.
  • Mike Hoar, 44, of 207 Bavaria, and
  • John Vuckovich, 54, of 2815 Amherst, both pleaded guilty Aug. 15 to driving under the influence. Both people were fined $410 and must attend alcohol awareness class.
  • Shawn Wood, 34, of the Lincoln Hotel, was sentenced to 18 days community service for misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct. Wood, according to court documents, was quarreling and fighting, and was swinging wildly at another individual.
  • Wesley Coleman, 49, address unknown, pleaded guilty Aug. 18 to disorderly conduct. According to court documents, Coleman was arguing with others and using profanity. He was sentenced to 10 days in jail.

The following people were fined $170 for disorderly conduct:

  • Amy Voorhees, 26, address unknown, pleaded guilty July 27. According to court documents, Voorhees used profane and abusive language at a family member.
  • Nicholas Krizan, 24, of 604 E. Third, Anaconda, pleaded guilty July 29. According to court documents, Krizan yelled and cursed at officers on Park and Main and was acting belligerent.
  • Richard Kiefer, 40, of 718 W. Granite, pleaded guilty Aug. 19. According to court documents, Kiefer was quarreling on the 700 block of West Galena Street, and challenged a person to a fight.
  • Alan Gardipee, 48, of 519 N. Wyoming, pleaded guilty Aug. 18. According to court documents, Gardipee was yelling and arguing at the Finlen Hotel and waking up hotel guests.
  • Dustin Clark, 20, of 1955 Florida, pleaded guilty Aug. 18. According to court documents, Clark used abusive language on the 1900 block of Florida.
  • Eli Burrow, 23, of Arkansas, was sentenced to one day in jail Aug. 5 for disorderly conduct. According to court documents, Burrow used profane language at the Super 8 Motel.
