Ross Henry Makin, 46, passed away of natural causes at his home on June 20th, 2019, in Anaconda, Mt. Ross was born on September 25th, 1972, in Choteau, MT; the son of Monte H. Makin (Melanie) and Ruth A. Makin. His family included a brother, Jesse G. Makin (Rachel); a niece, Emily, and two nephews, Monte James and Garrett; all of Lewistown, MT. Ross’ family also included Marge (Dick) Lutke; Dale (Carol) Makin; Sherry (Bob) Buikema; Kim (David) Thomas; Sarah Kellogg of Wash. DC and James S. Kellogg of Chicago, Ill. Ross’ extended family included Barbara Coon and family of Butte, MT and Colton Keiwatt (Ashley) of Drummond, MT. Ross and his family moved to Plains, MT where he graduated from Plains High School in 1992 and met life-long friends, Korey Thomas (Andrea) and Kevin Thomas (Stacy) and Kim Thomas (Joe). While still in high school, Ross was fortunate to train in the action shooting sports with National Women’s Champion, Judy Wooley and her husband, Charles.
Ross was employed by Action, Inc, of Butte, MT as a weatherization crew leader and rarely missed a day of work. He loved to spend his free time hunting, fishing, riding ATV or driving his maroon Dodge pick-up and he hit it big on a Montana scratch lottery ticket.

Ross was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Clifford Kellogg of Olivet, Michigan and Betty and Harry Makin of Billings, MT and uncles, Harry Makin, Jr., James C. Kellogg and the Thomas family mom, M. Joyce Barker.
A memorial service for Ross will be held on Saturday, July 13th beginning at 1:00pm at Benny Goodman Park with a Celebration of Life to follow at the VFW Hall in Anaconda, MT.
