June 7, 1949-Dec. 27, 2018
On Dec. 27, 2018, after a brave fight with declining health, a golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. It broke our hearts to see you go, God only takes the best.
Born June 7, 1949 to Frank and Clare Gibson in Helena, she graduated from Cathedral High in 1967. Gwen followed in her mom’s footsteps in the nursing profession, graduating as an RN from MSU-Bozeman. It was there she met her husband of 48 years, Bill Myers of Bozeman.
She raised her children on the ranch in Bozeman, enjoying the mixture of horses and mountain trails, livestock, and the fruits of hard labor. Gwen always gave more than she received and was the strength and glue of the family. She extended her family with friends and their children and grandchildren, loving them as fiercely as her own. She continued working hard and enjoying her animals, especially her horses and dogs, on ranches in Boulder, Reed Point, and most recently in Rapelje.
She never truly believed she was special and never realized just how many people loved her as much as she loved them. The patients at the nursing homes she worked at all became a part of her extended family, while giving them the best care possible. Her compassion always made them feel loved and appreciated.
Gwen is survived by her husband Bill, children Laine (Mariah), Jack (Leslie), Jodi (Matt) Armstrong, her brother Jim (Joyce) Gibson, 6 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and all the adopted children and grandchildren she claimed as well.
She was solid and true, and she will be missed.
