Mrs. Lila Jean Peterson passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 in Big Sky Senior Living. Lila Jean was born of May 06, 1933 in Anaconda, Montana, the daughter of Roy John and Rose (Boskovich) Lepetic.
Lila attended Webster-Garfield Elementary School and graduated from Butte High School. She furthered her education at the Butte Business College. She began her career as an Administrative Assistant at Newbro Drug.
On February 05, 1955 she married Robert R. Peterson at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Butte, Montana. She continued to utilize her outstanding organizational skills in assisting her husband in operating Butte Neon Sign Company. Bob and Lila remained partners in business, as well as in life, until his death in 1989. She retired in 1990.

After her retirement, Lila did not sit in her rocking chair on the front porch. Her life became such a flurry of activity it makes a person wonder how she ever found time to work. She was an active member for more than 50 years in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Nile Club and a, long-time, member of the Butte Continental Club, as well as, the Butte Junior League and P.E.O. Chapter X. An avid Bridge player, Lila enjoyed playing cards with her friends at the Tuesday and Wednesday Bridge Clubs, the Couples Bridge Club, and the Birthday Girls Bridge Club. She loved NFL Football, socializing with friends and family, and brisk walks. She loved cooking and celebrations. Her favorite was always Christmas. A member of the Serbian Orthodox Church her life was filled with faith, family, and friends. Lila Jean enjoyed life to its fullest.
In addition to her husband, Robert R. Peterson, Lila was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Oscar and Bertha Peterson; and her sister, Marilyn Simonich. She is survived by her children; Robert J. Peterson, William R. (Megan) Peterson, Karen (Steve) Petersons-Dunfee, and Kori Lynn Peterson; her grandchildren; Kyle Dunfee, Jason Dunfee, Jordan Peterson, Amanda Peterson, Lynsi Peterson, Dillon (Rachel) David, Derek David, and Olivia Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Hope and Lila David, and Jaxon and Hayes Bair. She is also survived by her brother, William R. Lepetic; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Jean Peterson; her nieces, Suzette Simonich and Shavonne Hanson; and countless special friends.

Friends may call on Wednesday after 10:00 am in the Duggan Dolan Mortuary Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery.
