James David “Jim” Kennedy passed away on March 5, 2019 at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, Washington after an 18 month battle with cancer.
Jim was born on July 16, 1948 to William John and Mary (O’Brien) Kennedy. He attended Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Butte Central High School in 1966. He graduated from the University of Montana and worked for a time at Metals Bank of Butte. He moved to Seattle in 1979 and worked for Todd Shipyards until his retirement in 2012. He was a proud member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local #32.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bill; and his twin brother, Jack. He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Deanna and Dick Thomas, and Kay and Marty Mulcahy, all of Butte, and Joan McKenna of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as, many lifelong friends in the Seattle area.
A Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal will be held this summer. Duggan Dolan Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements and will announce services. Memorials are suggested to the Butte Emergency Food Bank, or the Butte Central Foundation, P.O. Box 634, Butte, Montana, 59703.
