Nov. 5, 1935-May 8, 2019
Geraldine Claire Myers Faulkner passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 8, 2019.
She was born in Butte, MT on November 5, 1935 to Glen and Martha Myers and was the 12th child born to the "Myers Clan" living on Florence Street and was simply adored by her siblings.
Geri loved playing the piano for all the masses at St. John's Church when she was young. She would walk to and from church no matter the weather. As a young child, Geri loved to ice skate as well as had a lifelong adoration for angels. She graduated from St. John's Grade School and then went to Girls' Central for two years before transferring to Butte High.
After high school, Geri worked for Montana Hardware and at Eddy's Bakery. It was at Eddy's that she met the love of her life and soul mate, Al Faulkner. She married Al on July 9, 1955 and from this marriage, they were blessed with seven wonderful children. Al and Geri loved each other dearly and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this July.
After raising her children, Geri returned to the workforce and worked for the Butte School District where she held various positions for numerous years.
Geri enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, particularly pinochle, with her family-especially her brother Louie, who would often refer to her as "Rabbit". She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and she loved to collect knick-knacks of all kinds.
Geri dearly loved all of her puppies, including the ones gone before her, and especially her poodle, Peachy. We are sure she was very happy to greet them again at the Rainbow Bridge.
Geri is survived by her loving husband, Al, of nearly 64 years as well as her children, Colleen (Lorr), Dan (Mary), Mike (Lesia), Terri (Dave), Karen (Dan), Alan (Kris), and Christie (Kevin) along with her 16 grandchildren whom she greatly adored, Mike (Melissa), Jeremy (Kayla), Megan, Rebecca, Krystal, Katie (Jason), Melissa (Tyrel), Ryan, Sean, Kevin, Brandon, Nicole, Matthew, Aidan, Kellen, and Declan. In addition, Geri had 5 great grandchildren who brought many smiles, Oliver, Emmet, Emery, Carter, and Gracie. Geri is also survived by her dear brother and sister, CJ (Dorothy) Myers and Gert Downey along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She has reunited with her parents, Martha and Glen, and her siblings Martha, Marie, Betty, Kay, Francie, Ann, Bernice, Glen, and Louie in heaven.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 14th, at St. Patrick's Church at 11:00 am. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery following the funeral mass. Reception to follow at the MAC center. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can me made to the Chelsea Bailey Animal Shelter, Our Lady of the Rockies, or the Butte Food Bank.
Rest in peace, Mom. We love you always
