Frances was born in Butte, Montana October 4th, 1920, the youngest of six children born to Philip Eusibus Brouillette and Genevieve Clare (Flannigan) Brouillette. She was a lifelong member of Butte and the Immaculate Conception Parish. She graduated from Immaculate Conception School in 1934 and Girls’ Central High School in 1938, and attended Butte Business College, followed by employment at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., Karst Freight Lines and Jones Transfer. Frances married John J. Metesh on January 20, 1951 in the Immaculate Conception Church. Together they raised three children, Ed, John, and Sandi. John died July 25th, 1973, leaving three teenagers behind, along with the JM Bar on North Excelsior and a small ranch north of Walkerville. True to the tough and gentle nature of a Butte girl, Frances raised the kids, ran the bar, and chased the cows while keeping a full time job for the next 17 years.

In 1960, she started employment with the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth at Saint James Hospital, as the first employee hired after the new construction. Frances was very proud and grateful for her position as secretary for seven administrations; Sister Ann Dolores, Sister Ann Louise, Sister Mary Canjar, Sister Rosalie, Sister Mary Serena, Sister Mary Clarice and Sister Loretta Marie. She retired at the age of 70 after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the St. James Healthcare Auxiliary, Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians, Daughters of Isabella, Butte Catholic Community North Altar Society.

Following her retirement in 1990 she enjoyed genealogy research with her cousins, along with a few trips to Ireland, England, and Rome. Frances greatly enjoyed the great times at the family cabin at Echo Lake.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, baby Michael, husband John, sisters Marie (Al) Laurvick, Lourdes (Jack) Williams, Nora Brouillette, Ida (Robbie) Smith, and brother Phillip (Mary Belle) Brouillette.

She is survived by her children, Ed (Joy) Metesh, Sandi (Joe) Galster, and John (Yvonne) Metesh, all of Butte; grandchildren, Jessica (Bryan) Loushin; Erynn Metesh of Butte; and Michael Metesh of Washington D.C. Jonathan (Erica) O'Connor of Charles, Louisiana; Jennifer (Shannon) Powers and Jaclyn (Brent) Giop of Butte; Joseph Metesh of Missoula; John Metesh of Bozeman; Katherine Metesh of Bozeman; and great-grandchildren, Nora and Lucy Loushin; Blaire Baglio, Kaitlyn O'Connor; Colton, Cassidy, and Shay Powers; and Jaicee, Brayden and Jordynn Giop.
