Elizabeth Ann (Betty) McNabb passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family in Butte, Montana on June 17, 2019.

Betty was born in Butte on March 15, 1936, the daughter of Cecil R. and Mary C.  (Doherty) Stevenson. She attended St. Lawrence and St. Ann’s grade schools, Girls’ Central High School and graduated from Butte High School.

Following high school she worked for Wilson Motor Company for one year, then moved to Washington, D.C., and worked for National Geographic. She then moved back to Butte, working various jobs.

On Dec. 18, 1954, she married a handsome Butte sailor, Frank McNabb and the young couple moved to Long Beach, CA.  After 6 months they moved back to Butte and she went to work at St. James Hospital for 40 years; first as a nurse’s aide, then as the 4th floor (General) Ward Secretary, where everyone knew and loved her.

With her husband Frank they lived in the Doherty family home in Centerville, while raising her two sons before buying a home and moving to the flats where she lived for 50 years.
