May 20, 1945-Nov. 18, 2018
Daniel M. Walsh was born on May 20, 1945 in Butte, Montana. He passed into the arms of Jesus on Nov. 18, 2018 after a valiant four-year battle with stomach cancer. He was a respected employee of Avista Corp. for 26 years.
During his middle years he was an avid runner and participated in many marathons. The running of the 100th Boston Marathon and the New York Marathon were two of 20 or more marathons that he ran.
After his retirement 10 years ago, he helped found the Serve Spokane Food Pantry. He and his wife were the directors of the Food Pantry for five years. Dan loved his church family at Cedonia Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; stepson, Craig Dowdy (Melody); two grandchildren (Alisha & Parker); sister, Judi McGovern (Jim); brother, Rick (Sandy); niece, Rhonda Hritsco, whom he raised with his first wife, Dorothy; and many nephews, nieces and cousins too numerous to name.
There will be a memorial service for the family in the spring.
