Charlotte Josephine Converse, 78, was born in Anaconda, Montana on January 10, 1941. She entered Heaven's gates on January 10, 2019. Charlotte passed away at her home in Anaconda with her loving husband Bill and daughter Michelle at her side.

Charlotte was born and raised in Anaconda, MT and the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Sincheck) Smollack. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, William M. Converse at St. Peter's Church, Anaconda, MT on May 20th, 1967. Bill and Charlotte were married for a blissful 52 years.

Charlotte graduated from Anaconda High School and received her Registered Nursing Degree from St. Patrick's School of Nursing in Missoula MT in 1962. Her nursing career spanned 33 years.

She began her nursing career at Warms Springs State Hospital where she was a nursing supervisor of two wards. She worked for various doctors in the area as an office nurse and later helped open the office of Dr. William Bruce Ellis. She worked as his office nurse for 13 years and remained good friends with Bruce until her death.

Charlotte had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of the Anaconda Catholic Community.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her father and mother Charles and Katherine (Sincheck) Smollack, in-laws Donald and Mary (McBride) Converse, brother, Donald Smollack, brother- in-laws James Converse and Jerry Smith, Nephew Benny Friez.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Converse of Anaconda MT; her daughter and son in-law, Michelle and Kevin Buffington of Oregon; her five grandchildren (the lights of her life), Jacob, Amelia “Mia” and Alec Buffington of Billings, MT, and Madison “Maddie” and Abigail “Abby” Buffington of Oregon; sister and brother in-law, Ben and Dorothy (Smollack) Friez; sister-in-law, Mary Pat (Converse) Smith; her loving nephew and niece, Chuck and Konnie Friez; numerous nephews and nieces; and her faithful companion, her Maltese Leezie.

Charlotte's greatest enjoyment was taking all five grandchildren camping from June through September in majestic locations in Montana. She never missed a birthday, Christmas or any other important event with her family. Charlotte will be missed every second of the day. She brought such joy to all those that her life touched.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral services for her life celebration, at her request, are pending at a later date to be announced in the summer of 2019.
