During her life, Bernice faced numerous health challenges and was wheelchair bound for many years due to MS and sarcoidosis. For over 60 years she kept her focus on the Lord and He helped her to deal with the rocky road that was her path; as she often said, “Don’t worry, God is in control”. Her faith helped her get out of the wheelchair and onto quad canes, then later a walker. She was fiercely independent and strongly believed in not letting her handicap, handicap her! Besides being active in her church and an avid Christian, she enjoyed crocheting, playing all sorts of games, reading and various hobbies. She resided the last 5 years in the Great Falls Eagle’s Manor retirement home where she was active with various committees and loved working to make the community better. She will be missed by all who knew her but she has gone on to a better place.
She was preceded in death by her husband, R.B. “Bill” Hamilton on August 20, 2005, as well as her parents and all three of her brothers and sisters-in-law.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Deanna Hamilton, daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Bruce Peterson and Patricia Hamilton, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Bernice’s remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home where funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, November 29th at 1 o’clock with Pastor Ron Derksen officiating. Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery in Butte. Express condolences at www.wayrynen-richards.com.
