The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department reported Wednesday morning nine new cases of COVID-19 in the county.
The new cases bring the total of COVID-19 cases in Butte-Silver Bow to 83, since the county was informed of its first case March 13. The Health Department is managing 37 active cases.
The new cases were confirmed between Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
• a male in his teens
• a female and a male in their 20s
• two males in their 50s
• a female and a male in their 60s
• two males in their 70s.
The Health Department has determined that two of the cases are household contacts to other cases, and one is a contact to another case. Six of the cases remain under investigation to determine, if possible, the cause.
In all of the new cases, the Health Department is following up with all individuals identified as close contacts.
Meanwhile, Butte-Silver Bow health officials say the county’s COVID-19 numbers don’t always match up with the state’s map data, “as cases are being confirmed quickly and several cases are coming out of isolation."
