Comedy Night has an Irish theme — Cutler Brother’s St. Patrick’s Day “Comedy Night” will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday, March 15, at the Cutler Bros. Theatre, 301 Main St., Deer Lodge. This marks the 41st “Comedy Night” in the brothers’ history. The evening will include sketches based off of the holiday themes. The annual Shillelagh Shindig – A benefit for the Butte-Silver Bow Democrats, the party is from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Imagine Butte, 68 W. Park St. Potluck-style food will be served, so bring your favorite dish. The host for the evening will be Amanda Curtis, and guest speakers will be Kathleen Williams and John Heenan. Live music will be by Chad Ball and the Edmonton Bagpipers, too. Entry donation is $10. The evening includes speakers and music, including bagpipers.
The 111th annual Friendly Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick banquet and gathering – The event will be Saturday, March 16, at the Front Street Station. Cocktails are at 6 p.m. and dinner is served at 7. The banquet is the longest consecutive event celebrating the Patron Saint of Ireland, St. Patrick. The Friendly Sons and Daughters was founded in 1908 by Judge Jeremiah Lynch, Maurice English, and John H. O’Meara. Master of ceremonies is Wayne Harper, and guest speaker is Michael Harrington. For teens only — YMCA and T.A.S.C will once again host a St. Patrick's Day Free Teen Party from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 17, for grades 6 through 12 at the YMCA. Events include dodgeball, water volleyball, music, swimming, snacks, refreshments and pizza for kids and many other activities planned. Call 406-782-1266 for more details.
Mass at St. Patrick’s Church — To honor St. Patrick, the Patron Saint of Ireland, a special Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 17, at St. Patrick’s Church, 329. W. Mercury St. Traditional Irish music will be played and there will be a Hibernian procession, Irish music dedicated to St. Patrick and Our Lady of Knock, and an Irish-theme homily. Readers and ministers will be members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the Ladies AOH.
