The Virginia City Players are the oldest continually operating summer theatre company in the Northwest. This year marks its 70th anniversary.
Show times are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 4 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays 7 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays 2 p.m.
Ticket prices are $20 for adults; $18 for college students, military and seniors; $12 for children 17 and under. Season tickets are $54 for adults; $48 for college students, military and seniors; and $30 for children 17 and under.
The 2019 schedule is as follows:
May 24-June 30 — Never before seen on the Opera House stage – “Zorro!” Thrills, romance, and excitement abound. Boys and girls of all ages will want to draw their swords and join the fight against evil in this swashbuckling tale of a masked man who fights for justice.
July 2-Aug. 4 — Tumble down Lewis Carroll’s rabbit hole with “Alice in Wonderland.” Joy, merriment, and puppetry will titillate and intrigue audiences of all ages. See all of the beloved characters from the White Rabbit and Mad Hatter, to the Jabberwocky.
July 22 – Christmas Vaudeville in July. The performance promises a “vigorous vagary of vivacious vaudeville variety acts” all pertaining to the Christmas season.
Aug. 6-Sept. 1 — A curse has been held over the Braithwin estate for generations, and following the death of Anders Braithwin, the family descendants, doctors, and lawyers, gather in the creepy old manor, in search of the missing Stygian Amulet, which holds the family under its spell. Strange characters, an ancient house maid, and ghosts haunt the stage in this true Virginia City classic, "The Stygian Amulet."
