The man who perished at Rock Creek Lake west of Deer Lodge Tuesday afternoon has been identified as Bradley Eugene Wesson, 49.
Wesson, of Deer Lodge, was diving and swimming near the dam with four others, including his son, when he became unconscious. When the others realized he wasn’t swimming, they rescued Wesson from the water and attempted to revive him. One member of the party went to an area with cell service and called 911 at 5:30 p.m.
They put Wesson into a vehicle and began driving toward town. Sheriff’s deputies and ambulance personnel encountered them a short distance from the lake.
Powell County Sheriff Scott Howard said an autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death, but he does not yet have the results.
