Harding Way crash victim's name released

The identity of the man killed in the May 28 fatal crash near the top of Harding Way has been released.

According to Jefferson County Sheriff Craig Doolittle, the victim was Tedrick Beavon, 67, who was from the Whitehall area.

Beavon’s body was severely burned and was taken to the State of Montana crime lab in Missoula for identification.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, Beavon’s vehicle was engulfed in flames after hitting a large rock. He was unable to exit the vehicle.

Butte's Terra Verde and Boulevard volunteer fire departments responded to the scene, along with Jefferson County police officers and the Montana Highway Patrol.
