Great Scots

Under the direction of John Hamilton II, the Great Scots Pipes and Drums band was formed in 2005.

The Great Scots Pipes and Drums will be back again this St. Patrick’s Day. The group first appeared in Butte’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in 2001 and have been an annual participant ever since.

The group was formed in 1998 in Polson. Three of the original members are still playing with the band.

The band members have all been playing together for the past 15 years. They are -- John Hamilton II, Pipe Major; John Hamilton III, piper; Dick Braxton, piper; Sandy Ferrell, piper; John Bourne, piper; and Don Gunderson, bass.
