Interim coroner sworn in

Lori Durkin, left, shakes hands with District Court Judge Kurt Krueger on Wednesday after being sworn in as Butte-Silver Bow's new coroner. She was appointed by commissioners to fill out the term of longtime Coroner Lee LaBreche, who died unexpectedly last month. Durkin said she felt as though LaBreche was with her at Wednesday's ceremony. "I do," she said. "I just want to finish his term with dignity and respect and empathy and carry on that way and finish it for him.” Durkin has been a deputy coroner here for years and plans to run for a full term as coroner next year.
