Jason Edward Ansart, 46, of Billings appears Thursday in District Court. Ansart pleaded not guilty to felony counts of possession of dangerous drugs.

Jason Edward Ansart, 46, of Billings pleaded not guilty Thursday to felony counts of criminal possession of dangerous drugs and one misdemeanor count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.

District Court Judge Kurt Krueger set an omnibus hearing for Feb. 13, and Ansart was released.

On Nov. 8, 2019, a police officer reported seeing a truck pull into the Motel 6, 220 N. Wyoming St., that was thought to be involved in suspicious activity two days before.

The driver of the truck was Ansart, who had a local warrant out for his arrest, and he was taken to jail.

After allegedly seeing a syringe on the front seat of the truck, the officer viewed camera footage, determined that Ansart was the only occupant of the vehicle, and was able to get a search warrant.

The officer's search of the truck turned up a black zipper case with a glass marijuana pipe, along with a wallet with four Clonazepam pills, an Oxycodone hydrochloride pill, a Suboxone patch, crystal meth, a syringe, and marijuana.
