I was in this facility for about five months when I was fifteen. I experienced everything mentioned here and more. Seeing a picture of the entrance to that facility is haunting. If anyone needs more information about what happened here, I have lots of stories. Email email@example.com
As a kid that has been here between 2015-16, I can honestly say these places do not work. I have been diagnosed with several things I don't even have. I have been reevaluated and I only have ADHD. I can also vouch for butt-darts being a thing. I have seen things that no kid should see. I can remember at least one time that i received a butt-dart when I had already calmed down and was no longer a harm to myself or others. I can also say that the staff isn't the problem. They have to follow the rules set for them. Some have family and kids they are trying to provide for. Plenty of staff have even spent their own paychecks to get us little joys like pizza, candy and even little crafts for us to do. I have seen staff scratched and bit and they have even forgiven these kids because they know at the end of the day they weren't in their right minds. The calmest person ever can go here and go crazy. Some kids even lose the ability to function in day to day society. Some would rather act out than come home to a broken family. Because in reality it never gets to the root of the problem for some of us, its a quick and easy fix. To be stripped of your rights as human because your parents signed a form or a court decided it was to be is sad. To no longer get to go outside and not be surrounded by a fence or have a camera watching you is trapping. Especially when it's for a condition you struggle to control. That you can't just turn off when you please. Its inhumane.
Three of my kids were there by force thru CPS with me as the non offending parent and one malicious kids for cash happy CPS worker out of Helena MT. Two of them were forced into these injections. my kids went around calling these injections "butt darts". I was outraged that they were administering them without my consent. My youngest daughter suffered a broken jaw by staff member Heather C. I filed multiple reports with abuse line CPS and had an investigation done along with multiple medical professionals all of which I have I'm hand for evidence against CPS in Helena Mt. This is pure abuse of power. This place needs to be shut down completely. I reported such filth to lawyers, CPS, kids attorney, casa worker, and the board of directors, ombudsman...
These kids are being doped out because psychology doesn’t work. It’s not even a science. (My sister has a PhD in psychology, and she can’t even drive a car right.) Only the love and comfort of a family will help these kids.
Go for it Montana Standard! Shut Acadia down. Make Montana the first state in the nation to prosecute these people. Maybe other states will follow suit and this chain of 500+ torture chambers will disappear.
