Butte police arrested Seidel Lee Pine, 31, Thursday night on suspicion of sexual intercourse without consent and aggravated kidnapping, both felonies, and partner or family member assault, a misdemeanor.

"The allegations are extremely serious," Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester said. "We are grateful the victim was able to separate herself from the suspect and get to a safe place where she could get help."

Police received a call from the alleged victim Thursday evening after she reportedly escaped Pine's confinement.

According to the woman, Pine held her against her will, transported her from one location to another, and sexually assaulted her, police say.

Shortly after interviewing the woman, police detained Pine, who was initially detained on an investigative hold while officers determined what charge to file. On Friday, those determinations were made, Lester said.

The county attorney's office is expected to file charges on Monday, according to Lester.
