‘Who’s who’ list of celebrities to visit Butte

From almost the beginning of Butte’s existence, residents have bought tickets to see the latest show, concert, lecture or sporting event.

Some names you may be familiar with, others not so much.

It doesn’t matter because whether it was in a stadium, dilapidated dirt-floor stage or in one of Butte’s many early-day ornate theaters, Butte audiences have always been appreciative.

Through the years, solo artists, duos and bands, have played classical to jazz, swing to country, heavy metal to rock, and beyond.

Theatergoers, from the vaudeville era to present day, have been mesmerized by the actors, actresses, dancers and singers who have taken to the stage.

Lecturers and humorists entertained packed houses, too.
