The Butte Symphony will hold its first Chamber Concert Sunday, March 24.

The Butte Symphony will present its first annual Chamber Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at the Immaculate Conception Church.

This concert features a chamber orchestra with classical guitarist and music director Luis Millan in the Mario Castel-nuovo Tedesco’s pieces Platero y Yo. The seven pieces of the suite will also be accompanied by the Symphony Chamber Players and narration of the classic story of Platero the donkey and his life in the Spanish countryside of Moguer.

The program will also include the Symphony Brass Ensemble, Woodwind Quartet, Bassoon and Tuba duets, and Guitar and violin duets.

This concert is part of a new outreach to southwest Montana in bringing classical music to all and the Immaculate Conception parish is the perfect venue for this first Chamber Concert.

Seating is open and doors open at 1:30 p.m.

This concert is sponsored in part by the Montana Arts Council Public Value Partnership Grant and generous donations from members of the community.

A $15 donation at the door is requested. Children under 12 get in free. For more details on the concert and handicap accessibility contact Mark at the Butte Symphony, 406-723-5590.
