DILLON — Sheila Shepherd will be displaying her paint and pencil works at Tendoy Fine Art, 120 N. Montana Street, in Dillon during the month of August. Her show opens with a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4.
Shepherd’s early art instruction began in Jackson Elementary School. She studied with Darrell Johnson in high school and credits Johnson with inspiring her love of creating art. College instruction included Ben Steele at Eastern Montana College and Jim Corr at the University of Montana, Western. Later, painting in the studio of Mary VonLortz, she was schooled in color perfection.

“I am extremely honored to share my art with the community that I have always called home,” said Shepherd. “Most of the pieces I create reflect Southwestern Montana in one way or another.” Her artwork primarily focuses on figurative and architectural pieces.
