Two employees of a beverage distributor spotted a black Acura driving away from their delivery truck parked at Stoke’s Market Friday afternoon. They subsequently discovered that a backpack was missing with a computer, an iPhone and an iPad, with a total estimated value of about $1,000. Police responded about 3 p.m. and took a report.

Not long after, around 4:35 p.m., the delivery employees spotted what appeared to be the same vehicle parked near the U.S. Post Office on Dewey Boulevard in Butte. Police said that when they responded they found evidence associated with the missing computer equipment but not the iPhone or iPad.

Police arrested the vehicle occupants, Jason L. Stryker, 48, and Windi L. Cunningham, 50, both of Butte. Each was charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen property. Stryker was also charged with misdemeanor possession of dangerous drugs because he was found to have a small amount of marijuana, police said.


  • Police stopped Butte resident Danielle L. Wolcott, 29, around 12:50 a.m. Sunday near Dewey and Hill after they said they saw her driving primarily in parking lanes in the vicinity. Police said Wolcott failed sobriety tests at the scene and at the jail and blew over the legal limit after consenting to a Breathalyzer test. She was charged with misdemeanor DUI and with making unsafe lane changes, also a misdemeanor.
  • Around 8:45 p.m. Friday, police responded to the corner of Longfellow Street and Paxson Avenue, where a passenger vehicle had struck a pole. Police said they suspected that the driver, Chase R. Kremer, 21, of Butte, had been driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said Kremer refused to participate in a Breathalyzer test. He was charged with DUI, careless driving and failure to wear a seat belt, all misdemeanors.


  • Around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Walmart to a report of shoplifting. Police said Amanda L. Housel, 34, of Great Falls, had fled the store but was located on foot nearby on Paxson Avenue. She is alleged to have stolen items that included spark plugs, composition notebooks and journals. Housel was charged with misdemeanor theft.
  • On Friday, around 9:45 p.m., police arrested Butte resident Levi G. Gadaire, 43, and charged him with misdemeanor theft after he allegedly shoplifted a tool kit and speakers from Walmart.
