Caitlin Dreesen, 26, of Helena is accused of shoplifting a pair of boots from a sporting-goods store on the 1900 block of Dewey Boulevard.
According to police, Dreesen took the boots and ran out of the store.
Police say a female at the scene, who had driven the 26-year-old to the store, was able to help officers identify Dreesen, who they located hiding behind storage containers at the rear of the building.
Police say Monday evening they arrested a woman who had five city court warrants out for her arrest with a total bond of $7,000.
Officers were patrolling in the area of the 500 block of South Montana Street when they recognized the woman, Jamie Church, 29, of Butte, who was filling a car at a gas station.
Police responded to Walmart on Harrison Avenue Monday evening after a loss prevention officer phoned police to say he or she had caught a man attempting to walk out of the store with a bag of underwear and a bag of socks without paying. When police arrived, they arrested David Sandoval, 36, of Butte.
