PARTNER WEAPON ASSAULT

Butte police responded to a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman in a second floor apartment on Idaho Street just after midnight Saturday. Police said they heard a man yelling at a crying woman when they arrived on the ground floor and separated the couple after entering the apartment. Police said the woman told them Timothy Edwards, 40, had slapped her several times, grabbed her by the arm, held her down, and threatened her with a revolver that he put away before police arrived. The woman showed police the location of the revolver, which was confiscated. Edwards was arrested for partner/family member assault with a weapon and felony assault with a weapon.
