Frank Piazzola, 50, was found dead Thursday at the base of the Anselmo gallows frame, according to Butte-Silver Bow Coroner Lee LaBreche.

Piazzola was reported missing earlier this week. Family members reported that they last saw him on Jan. 28. His vehicle was found near the intersection of Caledonia Street and Excelsior Avenue.

LaBreche said officials suspect Piazzola died as a result of a fall.

But the cause of death will not be determined until an autopsy and toxicology report is complete. That will begin next week, LaBreche said.

After Piazzola's car was located, the area was checked by officers and family members. Piazzola was entered in a nationwide database as a missing person.
