NO FREE RIDES

A woman wanted on two arrest warrants for failure to appear in court called police for a ride Thursday afternoon from the 500 block of Granite Street. Because of the warrants, police responded, and she was booked at the jail and released with a notice to appear. Details on the nature of the court case weren’t available.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A man told to hit the road after causing a disturbance at the Party Palace, Park and Main, Wednesday night ended up in the Butte jail. Police said Herbert Shannon Jr., 56, was yelling profanities at the bar, and authorities were called. Police said he resisted arrest, wouldn’t get in the patrol car and attempted to kick at officer at the jail. He was booked for misdemeanor disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

AGGRAVATED DUI

Police stopped a woman Wednesday afternoon suspected of driving drunk in the vicinity of Dewey Boulevard. Laureen Steele, 59, told officers she hadn’t been drinking, but officers said they smelled alcohol in the car, and she stumbled when getting out of the car. She also didn’t perform well on two sobriety tests. She then blew twice the legal limit. She was jailed on charges of misdemeanor aggravated DUI, driving without a valid driver license and no liability insurance.
