Police say 47-year-old Larry Jason White of Butte got violent inside a home Friday afternoon, kicking a woman in the ribs and punching her 19-year-old daughter.
White pounded on the door of the residence in the 1000 block of Nevada Street around 4:30 p.m., asking for something to drink. The woman let him in, allowed him to use the phone and when she asked him to give it back, he got angry and lashed out.
He punched the daughter so hard, it broke her glasses, cut her nose and an eye, and knocked her to the ground. As he was being cuffed, White told officers he worked for the FBI and they “would all be going to jail.” He was arrested on two complaints of misdemeanor assault and was still in jail as of late Monday morning.
Taking off twice
A Butte woman sped away from police twice early Monday morning before she was blocked in and arrested.
An officer patrolling Clark Park on the Flat just after midnight Sunday saw a car with its headlights on and door open. He found Tiffany Nichole Fetters, 32, of Butte, slumped over the car seat and got her attention. She slammed the car door at first but then talked to the officer.
As he was walking back to his car for something, she took off, driving about 35 mph before stopping at Texas Avenue and Cobban Street. As an officer approached, she drove off again.
She was blocked in at Yale Street and Massachusetts Avenue and arrested for eluding police and driving under the influence of drugs. Police say she appeared to be on stimulants and possibly other drugs. Her blood was drawn at St. James Healthcare but results were not in as of Monday morning. Fetters was in jail late Monday morning with bond set at $1,720.
Victim arrested too
A homeless man was arrested after punching another man in the face and sending him to the hospital. A few hours later, the victim was arrested for striking an X-ray technician.
Police say the fracas started outside the Community Café on West Park Street shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday. Officers aren’t sure how it started but say Roger William Varney, 57, punched Michael John Farrell, 56, in the face.
Farrell was taken to the hospital but was too intoxicated to tell officers what happened, police say. He later became agitated and punched the technician in the chest when he was being wheeled in for an X-ray.
Varney was arrested for misdemeanor assault and was still in jail Monday morning. When Farrell was cleared from medical care a few hours after the initial incident, he was booked in jail for disorderly conduct and released a short time later.
A Maryland woman was arrested Friday for repeatedly exposing herself to police and the public.
Police were called about an argument at Iron Street and Maryland Avenue late Friday morning and found London Autumn Perry, 22, of Lanham, Maryland, at the scene. She repeatedly pulled her sweater open to an officer and others and was wearing nothing underneath, police said.
She was booked for misdemeanor indecent exposure, placed in protective custody and released a few hours later.
