DRUG POSSESSION

Police were looking for Nicholas Johnson, 24, Wednesday due to a probation violation. Police spotted his vehicle in the 3100 block of Harrison and questioned Johnson while the driver of the vehicle, Amanda Lane, 24, was inside a store. Police brought in a K-9 unit and searched the vehicle, which allegedly contained drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police also reportedly found drugs on Johnson. Police arrested both Lane and Johnson. Johnson was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, a felony. Lane was charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of dangerous drugs. Both were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor. Johnson was also charged with probation violation.

THEFT BY DECEPTION

Butte resident Melinda Hollow, 39, was arrested at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Wal-Mart for putting cheaper price tags on different items, police said. She paid $75.45 for the items that were valued at $222.62. She was charged with theft by deception, a misdemeanor, and criminal contempt, a misdemeanor. Wal-Mart refunded Hollow the $75.45, police said.

DRUNK, DISORDERLY

Police were called Wednesday around 5 p.m. to the Butte bus station where Alida Mattson, 25, of Great Falls and Dorothy Seminole, 39, of Lame Deer were said to be intoxicated and causing a disturbance. When police asked Mattson to leave, she sat down on the sidewalk, and Seminole also refused to leave. Police arrested the two, charging them both with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

Police arrested Justin Whittington, 34, at about 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of North Wyoming for trying to pass a credit card at several different locations. Whittington was charged with deceptive practice with a credit card, a felony.
