Zane Allen

Snowboarder Zane Allen takes to the air from a small snow ramp next to the Mountain Con Mine Wednesday afternoon. Butte Community Fitness Foundation, is holding what it hopes will be an annual Montana Winter Festival: “Snoflinga” on Jan. 29-30-31 at various venues around Butte. The idea is to offer free winter sports to folks who many not otherwise be able to afford them, such as cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Homestake, ice-skating and curling at the High Altitude Speed Skating Center, 3 road races from Tech to Mountain Con and back (1 for serious runners, 2 for not-so serious runners), fat bike tire demonstrations at Montana Tech, ice luging, skating and sledding for kids at the Original Mine Yard and Urban Rail Jam for skilled snowboarders and skiers at Mountain Con.
