March 07, 2013 1:00 am

Head coach: Roxie Wilson

Overall record: 21-3

Roster — Seniors: Emily Kautzman, Jere Dennehy, Tanya Thompson, Taylor Holcomb, Tori Rootes, Taylor Falcon; Junior: Keelie Smith; Sohomores: Allison Hert, Kile Denny, Shelby Means, Brina Hull, Taylor Klein; Freshmen Kendal Neumiller, Tyra Limpy.

Starters: Emily Kautzman, Taylor Holcomb, Tori Rootes, Alli Hert, Jere Dennehy

Outlook: Coming in as the third best team out of the Southern B is impressive enough, especially as a 21-3 squad.

The Fillies could be a scary outfit as they have a lot going for them.

“Our strengths are our size, hustle, defense, pushing the ball up the court on offense and experience,” Wilson said. “Our weaknesses decision making at times like being patient at times in the game.”

Colstrip has an identity that definitely grabs their coach’s attention.

“I like the fact that they never give up and they are a very classy group of kids that step up when they are needed in the game,” Wilson said. “Any team that is at state has a chance of winning it all with a little luck and hard work and we are going to take that chance.”

The Fillies open up with the girls of Powell County and will have to be ready for the fast tempo on both sides of the ball.

Wilson’s team will try to turn the heat up in transition and attack the lane while opening up space for their perimeter game to flourish.
