- Butte American Legion Baseball is accepting applications for managing and coaching positions. Current openings are for assistant coaches for all divisions and a managerial spot for the A or B team. The Butte chapter of the Montana Officials Association is looking to add to its ranks. Membership dues must be paid and a minimum score of 60 percent on a qualifying (open-book) exam must be attained. Study materials will be provided after the initial dues are paid. Interested parties can also review the 2017-18 Basketball Rules Clinic for Officials at mhsa.org prior to Dec. 1. The Butte officials will hold their first meeting of the year at 6 p.m., Monday at the Maroon Activities Center. - The Butte Community Ice rink at 1700 Wall St. is open to the public on Sunday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. Skate rental is available for an additional $3 charge. Call 498-1877 for more information.
- The MAC Holiday Hoops Basketball Tournament will take place on Dec. 29 featuring girls and boys divisions. The tournament is open to girls and boys in third through eighth grade. Divisions will be set up for third- and fourth-graders, fifth-graders, sixth-graders, seventh-graders, and eighth-graders. Teams will play at least three games. The deadline to register for the one-day event is Dec. 15.
