• The Butte Country Club will host the 2017 Labor Day Classic on Sept. 2 through 4, but the field is limited to the first 180 entries.
The entry fee is $110 for club members, $140 for non-members, and $150 for professionals. Participants can shoot a practice round on Sept. 1, but non-members will have to pay a $35 greens fee.
The first rounds of the tournament will feature tee times while Monday’s action will use a shotgun start. Dinner will follow the final round. Call the Butte Country Club at 494-2394 for more information.
• The Knights of Columbus four-man fall basketball league will begin play Sept. 5. The cost is $175 per team. Teams can sign up at the KC bar or by calling Dan Boyle at 565-7947.
• The Copper City Curling Club is accepting registrations for the upcoming season.
The first session is scheduled to start on Sept. 10, with games being played Sunday nights at the Butte Community Ice Center.
Teams must have four curlers, or the club might assign members to your team. Individuals who are not on teams or who would like to substitute are asked to contact the club.
Registration fees are $240 per team. The registration deadline is Sept. 6, and there is a 12-team limit.

• The inaugural Bill Squires Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 22 at the Missoula Country Club.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Williams (Bill) A. Squires Legacy Endowment Fund at Montana Tech.
Squires graduated from Montana Tech with a BS in chemistry and from the University of Montana School of Law. He remained engaged with both universities throughout his life and also served as the CEO of Blackfoot.
The cost for the tournament, which includes dinner and an auction, is $600 per four-person team or $150 per individual.
