Butte High heavyweight Jeff Queer was the lone local champion as the Bulldog wrestling team wrapped up a third-place team finish at the Tom LeProwse Invitational in Bozeman on Saturday.
Queer, the reigning Class AA state champion, won his title in thrilling fashion, scoring a 5-3 sudden victory over Colstrip's Merlin Whitedirt in the first minute of extra time.
Gabe Tierney added to Butte High's total with a 14-5 major decision over Bozeman's Jaiden James in the 120-pound third-place match.
Carl Anderson had a hard-fought 1-0 win over Skyview's Trevor Dillon in his fifth-place match at 160, while Kameron Moreno took sixth at 182.
Dillon's Brent Tezak was the only other local to make the championship round, but fell to Great Falls' Jordan Komac, 3-2, in the 160-pound title tilt.
Butte Central's Clay Fisher was third at 126, after edging Helena High's Austin Murphy, 3-2.
Whitehall's Connor Johnson was fifth at 132, while Deer Lodge heavyweight Brandon Thompson was sixth.
