Heavyweight Jeff Queer earned an 8-1 decision over Lewistown's Justin Chase to earn a spot in the semifinals and help the Butte High wrestling team into 10th place after Day 1 of the Jug Beck Rocky Mountain Classic in Missoula on Friday.

Queer opened the day by pinning Hellgate's Dakota Friesen in 1 minute 59 seconds, before pinning Frenchtown's Jesse Mecham in 1:05.

Four other Bulldogs lost their quarterfinal matchups for the second straight weekend.

Tyler Casey (113 pounds) was pinned by Bozeman's Leif Schroader in 1 minute, 46 seconds in his quarterfinal. Tyler Vetter (126) was pinned by Missoula Big Sky's Douglas Swanson in 2:37. Kadin Schonsberg (145) lost a 14-6 major decision to Big Sky's KJ Swanson. Carl Anderson (160) lost a 7-1 decision to Fergus' Alex Wickens.

The Bulldogs have 63 points in the 32-team tournament. Kalispell Flathead leads with 119.5 points.
