BELGRADE — Butte High pitcher Kaidy McClafferty delivered a lights-out performance, throwing a complete game against Belgrade as the Bulldogs shutout the Panthers 3-0 on Wednesday in a non-conference game. 

The win improved Class AA Butte to 3-1 on the season. Belgrade (2-2), currently playing at the Class A level, is preparing to make the jump to Class AA for the 2019-2020 school year. 

McClafferty, a senior who will play for Division II Bemijdi State this fall, struck out 12, while Belgrade's Kaleigh Bauerle fanned four. McClafferty pitched all seven innings and allowed zero runs against five hits.  

Butte tallied eight hits, with Brianna Ossello and Taylor Huff each notching two hits for the Bulldogs and Huff batting in two runners.

The lone offensive burst for Belgrade was a single by Katie Hoppe in the first inning.

McBauerle took the loss for Belgrade, going seven innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out four and walking zero.

Belgrade racked up five hits with Hoppe and Ty Atwood each collecting multiple hits for the Panthers.

Butte will take on Billings Senior on Friday and Billings West on Saturday.
