Mesa Williams had 16 points and nine rebounds, Genna Barrett added 17 points, and the third-seeded White Sulphur Springs girls basketball team rolled past West Yellowstone, 45-17, in the opening round of the District 11C tournament in Churchill on Thursday.
The Hornets advance to face the second-seeded hosts from Manhattan Christian in Friday’s 7:30 p.m. semfinal.
Rebekah Everest’s nine points led West Yellowstone in defeat.
Shields Valley 63, Gardiner 18
Jen Fairchild led a balanced attack with 12 points, and fourth-seeded Shields Valley earned a semifinal matchup against top-seeded Lone Peak.
The Rebels and Big Horns meet on Friday at 6 p.m.
Emma Doolittle and Brook Russell added nine points apiece for Shields, while Brooke Dreyer led the Bears with seven points.

Will Syverson had a game-high 18 points to lead the Hornets into Friday's 3 p.m. semifinal against hosting Manhattan Christian.
Brock Peterson led Shields Valley with 13 points.

Eddie Starz led the way with 18 points as third-seeded Lone Peak advanced to Friday's 4:30 p.m. semifinal against Gardiner.
Lucas Peterson had 14 points to lead West Yellowstone.
