HAVRE — Montana State Northern head football coach Aaron Christensen is expected to resign on Wednesday.
The Havre Daily News first reported the news on Twitter, tweeting "Northern head coach Aaron Christensen will resign on Wednesday morning #mtscores" at 4:29 p.m. on Tuesday.
Christensen's resignation is coming after the Lights were recently on the receiving end of a 93-19 drubbing at the hands of Montana Tech on Saturday. The win gained national attention, with ESPN even tweeting out a photo of Tech's win.
MSUN is currently 1-7 overall and 0-7 in Frontier Conference play, its lone win coming against Mayville State on Sept. 30. This is Christensen's third year as the head coach. The Lights finished 1-9 a year ago and were 0-11 overall and 0-10 in conference play in his first year on the job.
