The Montana Western football program released its schedule for the 2017 season, one which features a home game against rival Montana Tech.

The Bulldogs will begin their campaign on Aug. 26 with a home game against College of Idaho.

Other home games will be against Southern Oregon (Sept. 16), Montana Tech (Oct. 7), Eastern Oregon (Oct. 21), and Rocky Mountain (Nov. 11).

Western's campaign will also include a game against Weber State of the Big Sky Conference. That game is scheduled for Sept. 2 in Ogden, Utah.

"The Frontier Conference schedule is always one of the toughest in the country," Bulldogs football coach Ryan Nourse said. "Opening at home versus College of Idaho then going to Ogden to play an FCS team is a huge challenge in starting the season but one we are excited to prepare for. It is going to be a great experience for our team."

The Bulldogs won the final three games to finish their 2016 season with a 7-4 record. They also ended the season ranked No. 19 on the final NAIA poll.
