GREAT FALLS — Montana Tech's Jake Miles piled up a game-high 20 points and sunk six triples — including a decisive 3-pointer with 2.6 seconds left — to power the Orediggers over the University of Providence, 70-67 on Thursday evening.
In all, Tech connected on 13 treys.
The Argos and Orediggers played the second half of the game on Thursday after the game was postponed after one half on Jan. 6 due to a backboard failure.
Providence led 33-31 after the first half.
The win earned Tech (9-8, 1-5) its first conference win of the season.
John Chapman notched four 3-pointers for the Orediggers and Trent Molesworth led Tech with five rebounds while scoring nine points.
DuShaun Rice paced the Argos with 18 points and Treyvon Bashir came close to clinching a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.
Tech and Providence will square off again on Friday on 7:30 p.m.
