Brenden Kelly caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Kai Quinn in overtime and the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers held on to beat the Carroll College Saints 41-34.

Carroll scored a touchdown to take a three-point lead with under a minute left, but EOU was able to put together a 13-play drive to get in field goal range. Mountaineer kicker Nathan Harden hit a 41-yard field goal as time expired to put the game in overtime.

EOU quarterback Kai Quinn completed 18-of-35 passes for 417 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was also the Mountaineers leading rusher, gaining 33 yards on 15 attempts. He also added two touchdowns on the ground.

Major Ali was a force for the Saints, rushing 36 times for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Carroll got out to a fast start and went up 14-0, but the Mountaineers were able to battle back and tied the game on an 81-yard Kelly touchdown. Kelly finished with five catches for 195 yards.

Reese Hiibel completed 9-of-18 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. He was also sacked five times.


Jade Olson had a walk-off touchdown run and the Battlin’ Bears were able to scrape by the Bulldogs.

RMC led by 14 late in the fourth quarter, but Western quarterback Bennett Gibson was able to orchestrate two late touchdown drives to send the game into overtime. Gibson finished 22-of-35 for 469 yards and two picks. The Bulldogs went on offense first, but Bennett was intercepted by Rocky’s Dallas Mack on the third play from scrimmage.

Three carries later, Olson was in the end zone. He finished with 17 carries for 100 yards.

Rocky quarterback Drew Korf completed 42-of-62 passes for 475 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. He found wide receiver Lucas Overton 15 times for 222 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Max Gray had 11 catches for 111 yards and another two touchdowns.

Rocky Mountain finishes 6-5 (6-4 Frontier) for its first winning season since 2013. Montana Western ends the season 4-7 (4-6 Frontier) a big dip down from its 7-4 season in 2016.


Tyler Cox threw four touchdowns as the Yotes finished the season with a win over the Lights.

COI ends the year 6-5, while Northern finishes 1-10.

Cox also had 103 yards on the ground on 15 attempts in another impressive performance. Northern quarterback Tommy Wilson completed 17-of-28 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns.

Northern struggled to get the run game going, however, and had just 23 yards on 37 carries. COI averaged 8.8 yards per play, though did give up 119 yards on 12 penalties.
