Net neutrality ruling will hurt small businesses
Today I was dismayed to read that Sen. Daines told the Gazette that Democratic efforts to repeal the FCC's net neutrality ruling using the Congressional Review Act was a "stunt." Am I to assume he has not been listening to his constituents? Eighty percent of the public wants net neutrality.
We are a small businesses here in Butte. This repeal of the net neutrality rules will hurt us and many small businesses in Montana, let alone across the country. The internet, as it is now, allows us to compete fairly with much larger corporations. Within a few years, we will be priced out of the internet. For the regular consumer, your prices will increase.
I wonder if Sen. Daines' backing of this ruling has to do with donors? Surely, he is out of step as there are Republicans and Republican business owners who want to repeal this ruling.
We encourage you to write, call, or email Sen. Daines and Sen. Tester to vote for CRA putting all businesses on a even keel on the internet.
