Thank you Marian Jensen, for not letting Kevin H. Brown's narrow-minded version of America's public schools go unchallenged!
You hit the nail on the head stating the fact that instead of defending attacks from people like Brown, public school teachers are too busy trying to figure out how to do more for kids with less help.
Helping those who are unable to help themselves has become the charge of public schools. For those who have the wherewithal and/or financial abilities to do so, private schools and homeschooling remains an option, but it is Pollyannaish and downright unfair to blame public schools for what Brown "perceives" as a country in decline.
Unlike what the "Donald" says, I believe America is still pretty great!
